Intro

This Git will work as your instruction manual for the lab sessions of the automation technology course.

Hyperlinks will be used and guide you to the corresponding markdown files.

Fields that are markes as this, are ToDos. They have to be done during and/or before the lab session.

These fields will give you more information on the topic.

This Lab Book will be updated dynamically. The tasks may change slightly as the semester goes on. The practical session team will decide and adapt the tasks and task descriptions based on the performance and knowledge of the participating students.

During the lab sessions, 2 or maximum 3 students will form a group. The groups shall stay the same for the whole course.

Please note: The lab sessions might have sections or links marked as preparation. These documents and sections are to be prepared by the student before attending the lab sessions. The lab personel may ask to show the preparation documents at any give point. If the lab personel recognizes that the students perparation was not done, the lab personel may take according actions.

The lab sessions are described in English! If you have difficulties understanding the lab instructions, we would like to recommend you to use a browser, that translates the current page to your language of choice.

Be aware that you can only attend the lab sessions, if you made and passed the test on our safety and security guidelines. You will find this test in Ilias or via a Link provided by the lab personel.

You are welcome to bring your own Laptop to work out the lab sessions. If you want to work on the lab PCs, please bring a storage drive, where you can save your progress, since the filesystem may be unreliable from time to time.

Lab Session 1 & 2 - Festo ®FluidSIM, Relaytechnology & Digital technology

On the lab PCs, FluidSim may throw an error, that the license is not activated. Choose activate and online activation. Type the Activation ID 1234. If the system tell you that there are not enough keys left, close fluidsim and start it again. If the problem persists, please contact the lab personel.

Lab Session 3 & 4 - Wago E!Cockpit with Festo MecLab Stations

Lab Session 5 - Wago E!Cockpit WebVisu

Lab Sesson 6 - Wago E!Cockpit and OPCUA Communication and Node-Red

Lab Session 7 - Siemens TIA Portal with PLC programming

There won't be enough Stations for everyon during this lab session, you may need to merge together.
